Back then I was scared to death to approach a girl and I was way too more bushes in the promise-land....

back in the 70's a different world back in the 70's and 80's - if you wanted to ask a girl out-say in high school,,,you call her house on a rotary phone-and most houses just had one phone-centrally located so everyone else could hear- anyways, you call the girls house, to ask her out-her father answers,,and sternly says "she's not here" or she's doing her homework,,or "she's too young to date- dont bother calling again...if she's 17 whole different world today.......sooooooooooooooo much easieralot more bushes in the promise-land....

If someone didn't get back to you for a day or two, there was no need to start freaking out about if he really liked you or not. Some of us had answering machines so we could leave a message. The "hookup culture" of today is all about being physical without getting tangled in the emotional. How about we flip the script and try taking it slow? But dating is timeless and I'm sure many of my generation's problems were also experienced by guys who are slightly older. It was better, you met real people in real places and it wasn't for the sole purpose of having sex and moving on, in my experience anyway. You usually had to actually get to know someone and go on actual dates, spend time together, meet their friends, meet their families, spend holidays together.
