Are you dating anyone 21st century online dating
But suddenly I feel lost on the girls’ brunch staple: Instead of consulting Urban Dictionary, I asked Facebook and Twitter. I considered standing on a street corner and asking NYC strangers but a blizzard made me scrap that idea. I certainly think of DATING and SEEING as different in my mind. The conclusion of my (extremely) limited study (“study”) was a shockingly even divide between the two camps. Or maybe I’ll just slip on some elbow length gloves every time I sit down to blog, and tell you I’m not old-fashioned. Which one do you think is less casual: “Dating” or “Seeing”?
What is the difference between "Seeing someone" and "Dating someone"? Logically speaking, a relationship should progress from being open and inclusive of all possibilities to one of exclusive nature with one person.
However, you would use these terms if the realationship was young or if you were not yet serious about this person.
In other words, seeing/dating someone implies that you haven't decided to make this an exclusive relationship, at least not yet.
I've heard both terms before but didn't think much about them until seeing this post.
I asked some of my expat friends, most of whom are Canadian, about this.
I think if you are searching for exclusivity, then you should ask for it (or rather, ask for where you stand in the relationship in regards to this matter).
